What are the most dangerous foods to eat while driving?

Eating while you drive may sound enticing. On long trips, it can help break up the boredom. If you're in a rush, eating behind the wheel saves you time. However, it's also very dangerous and distracting, and it can lead to serious accidents. Some of the most dangerous foods include:

Chocolate

The problem with chocolate is that it can melt and cover your fingers. This could make your grip slip on the steering wheel, and it can also lead to a serious secondary distraction when you get done eating and try to clean your hands.

Hamburgers and Other Greasy Foods

The problem with grease is similar to chocolate, but it can make your hands even more slick. You may even have to whip your hands multiple times before you're done eating, and you're likely looking away from the road every single time.

Coffee

Coffee is probably one of the most common beverages consumed in the car. It helps on your early-morning commute to work or during a late-night road trip. However, because of the scalding temperature, it's very dangerous to have in the car. One bump can cause a spill that burns your exposed skin, a incredible distraction.

Tacos

Tacos may not be as greasy as hamburgers -- though some certainly are -- but they fall apart far too easily to eat while you drive. As the taco spills all over your lap, you'll be looking down or even trying to hold it with both hands to prevent the spill.

Now you know what foods to avoid, but that can't be said for all drivers. If you've been injured in an accident with a driver who was distracted by food or drinks behind the wheel, you may be able to seek compensation.
